Fire Risk Assessment
Fire safety law changed in October 2006 with the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The requirement for businesses to have fire certificates has been abolished and any previously held are no longer valid. Instead the law:
- emphasises preventing fires and reducing risk
- makes it your responsibility to ensure the safety of everyone who uses your premises and in the immediate vicinity
If you operate your business from non-domestic premises, it is a legal requirement for you to carry out Fire Risk Assessments and provide staff training. BAS offer you assistance to meet these obligations in an effective and flexible way.
Good management of fire safety in your premises is essential to ensure that any fire safety matters that arise are always effectively addressed. We at BAS will offer Fire Risk Assessments that can be tailored to suit your business. We aim to keep you working within the law and ensuring your commitment to your company health and safety.
There are five stages to completing a Fire Risk Assessment:
- Identify fire hazards, including sources of ignition, fuel and oxygen.
- Identify people at risk, including people in and around the premises and those especially at risk.
- Evaluate, remove, and reduce the risk to people from fire and fire hazards.
- Record significant findings, prepare an emergency plan and provide fire safety training.
- Keep your fire risk assessment under review and revise, when necessary.
Fire Risk Assessments start from £250 plus VAT and costs
