CDM Co-ordinators
All of our health and safety consultants are fully qualified with extensive experience and are members of IOSH and APS and follow a programme of Continual Personal Development (CPD) to ensure that they keep up to speed with current legislation. This enables them to update their clients on any aspects of law which may affect their company. BAS have Constructionline and CHAS accreditation as CDM Co-ordinators.
The Construction (Design & Management) CDM Regulations 2007 came into force on 6 April 2007 replacing the CDM 1994 and Construction Health Safety and Welfare Regulations 1996 (CHSW). Its aim was to integrate health and safety into the management of a project and to encourage all persons involved to work together with a common aim to:
- improve the planning and managment of projects from the start;
- identify hazards early on, so that they could be eliminated or significantly reduced at the design or planning stage with any remaining hazards being properly managed;
- target effort where it can do the most good in terms of health and safety; and
- discourage unnecessary bureaucracy
