BAS was the inspiration of two successful building surveyors Peter McNamara and Richard Rowley, in 1992 .When opening the office they decided to offer a fully tailored building operation. Richard took up the reigns of the health and safety, building management and the architectural dept. While Peter runs the surveying and estimating side.

Richard consistently puts the client first in his approach to projects both major and minor. The concept designs he creates are unique and special, providing his clients with a completed project of lasting value. His designs and projects, commercial, or residential encompass our green philosophy of incorporating the latest green technologies and the use of materials from sustainable sources.

Each design is the result of a working collaboration of all design professions and project participants. Our office practice is a continuum of creative exchange between clients and individuals in the design studio. Our entire practice is enriched by the challenges of differing project types. Though architecture, BAS seeks to express the culture of specific communities while linking them with the opportunities that the future holds.

Richard has a passionate interest in the design and build of schools and colleges where he will apply research and use best practice methods for �creating the school as a community and place to build safe healthy places that improve overall student well being.
